Welcome

The Four Rivers Heritage Area holds an extraordinary array of historic, cultural, and natural resources. Come visit a unique place where heritage is protected and shared, and where the traditions of the land and the water continue to shape our lives.

Stroll the historic streets and visit the heritage sites of Annapolis, Maryland’s capital city on the Chesapeake, where colonial era buildings are still in use, where the U.S. Naval Academy continues to train young officers, and sailing is a major pastime.

Step into the past at Historic London Town & Gardens, a colonial tobacco port being reconstructed using traditional building methods. Enjoy a leisurely drive through “South County,” with its historic churches, enduring horse farms, seasoned tobacco barns, and small maritime villages.
